Overman & Senn

Glenn Overman writes from the heart of the Bozarts, near South Georgia's largest city, J-action-ville, FLA.   He likes to write and he thinks about stuff way too much.  He doesn't share much personal information not because he doesn't like or trust you personally, but because some of those people reading over your shoulder are just whacked. Oscar Senn has been painting since second grade. He has always worked in oils. His fine art ranges from large format Western and Florida landscapes to works that explore the spiritual side of childhood and common American life. Loose and abstract at the surface, landscapes and waterscapes can appear alluringly photographic from a distance. His figural paintings evoke a poignant narrative moment in the life of souls. He was educated at Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Florida. He has worked as a newspaper illustrator in Florida and an advertising Art Director in both Florida and California. His work has been included in Communication Arts magazine’s Illustration Annual and honored by the New York Art Director's Show. As a fine artist, he is represented in Los Angeles by Couturier Gallery on La Brea and Fairfax Gallery in Ponte Vedra, Florida. His work is featured in collections all over the country. Mr. Senn has designed toys, TV commercials, posters,  logos, and annual reports. He currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida with a dog, two cats, and a turtle. The reason I paint

Almost surely, the first prayer was offered deep in the earth, by firelight, before an ochre outline of a buffalo. Painters have been priests ever since. This is not overstatement. Art is one of the last sources of wonder for modern people. I offer these paintings as windows onto something indefinable – a magical act of creation that can make the corner of a home into a refuge, a place of domestic pilgrimage. It’s the best thing I can do.
