I find that the most simple things such as driving a car eludes most people. Just ride the interstate highways around Atlanta and witness the carnage. They must have bought their license at Wal-Mart; I don't know how they passed a State Patrol test. This is my pet peeve and I have to negotiate around the masses daily. As more people move here, the worse it becomes. Will you all get off the phone and pay attention, please? I would hate to die in a Darwininan automobile pile. It happens all of the time and roads are closed to remove the debris. At least all of the bridge jumping loonies have calmed down lately. When your life is not going as planned, the first response is - I need to jump off an interstate bridge. No? Me either.

I always get a kick of out of the Darwin Awards ... some still find a way to eliminate themselves from the gene pool.

A good friend and I were sitting in his backyard drinking beer and talking about how everything just seemed oddly different now a days. We wondered what happend and now you have explained it to me. I pass this information along to my buddy. I wonder if I am one of those people who has cheated death because of Ralph Nadar.

Beth I hope you are strong enough to stand up to these parents. I have an 11 year old granddaughter whose parents don"t know the meaning of "accountability". It's allways someone else's fault. It seems to me that the only stable "role models" our children have these days are teachers and grandparents.
You do know I had to add "grandparents". How stable we are is questionable.

Thanks for a great article. Humorous, but sadly very true. I am a teacher and you would not believe how stupid parents have become over the years.
We used to be able to count on our parents, especially mothers, to teach us to make wise decisions. Young children look up to their parents and follow their examples, and now I'm afraid they are being taught to make stupid choices. I fear for our future!

Mike one thing is for sure "survival of the fittest" doesn't always refer to physical attributes and "natural selection" was working just fine.
