People are asking very good questions. 1) Where was the North in all this? 2) Why have historians been so willing to ignore it; 3) Was mass emancipation a good thing? As a Southerner, I have long been aware of the omissions in history as taught in US textbooks. God bless this rebel-child, Mr. Blackmon, for rising up and telling the truth.
